Steve Cyrus is the Executive Director of FirePoint Innovations Center at Wichita State University. During his tenure the FirePoint team has had 2X growth in its Army Aviation portfolio and a 2.5X growth in the size of their Wichita offices. These gains have included new and expanding relationships with the core of the Army Aviation technology community including Combat Capabilities Development Command - Aviation and Missile Center Future Vertical Lift Cross Functional Team, Aviation and Missile Command, and Program Executive Office – Aviation. Prior to FirePoint he had 15 plus years of multidisciplinary leadership experience in the aviation industry at Textron Aviation, moving many multi-million dollar initiatives from concept to completion. During his Textron career he led successful teams in engineering, manufacturing, and program management in China, Japan, Mexico, Norway and the United States. He is an alumnus of LeTourneau University in Longview, TX where he obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an alumnus of Savannah College of Art and Design where he obtained a BA in Animation.
